Pārāwai School is a full Primary School of approximately 300 students, we cater for students in Years 1 to 8 and are well established in the township of Thames.
We have very positive relationships with the local community, and are well served by a stable and dedicated staff and Board of Trustees.
Pārāwai School is located in Lowe Avenue, Pārāwai , Thames. We have the beautiful Kauaeranga Valley Forest Park on our doorstep and the Thames coast beaches are only 10km away.
Our school prides itself on providing quality educational programmes and our students learn and play in a safe and inclusive school culture. We encourage children to challenge themselves, take risks in their learning and to make the most of every opportunity that they are offered.
Learning environments are well resourced and maintained. We place particular emphasis on Literacy and Mathematics, as these subjects are vital for achievement across all the learning areas. Pārāwai School provides varied curriculum that caters for students’ differing abilities and interests. At Pārāwai School we also offer a wide range of sporting, artistic, cultural, academic and leadership opportunities for our students.
Pārāwai School is renowned for its sporting and academic excellence and students (whatever their ability) are encouraged and given the opportunity to challenge themselves and ‘have a go’. Throughout the year they take part in a wide range of competitive activities within the school, locally, as part of the Thames Valley and also in the Waikato Full Primary Schools’ Association.
Our children are positive and enthusiastic learners. They are also polite, responsible citizens who enjoy school life.
Pārāwai School’s Mission, Vision, Values, Key Competencies, Learning Areas and National Standards in Literacy and Mathematics all fit together to provide a rich and well-rounded educational experience for all our students.
We are proud of our school and work as a team with parents/whanau to ensure that all our children enjoy school and experience success.
